Mama : Hari ini sahur apa, Nak?
Papa : Anakku, jangan lupa sahur yang bergizi ya...
Awww....if only my parents knew what kind of sahur menu their daughter had...they will definitely summon me to go home, pronto :)). ***Canned sardines, canned tuna, ramyun/noodles, eggs and sweet potatoes are my repetitive menu. 100 % unhealthy! I've completely betrayed my food scientist background....
Moreover, one day i had rice+pepper+salt [RPS] as my sahur menu. Mwahahahhaaa...super pathetic! At that time, Panda was checking up on me and asked the same question as my mother. When i told her that i ate RPS on my sahur time, she replied shockingly "Ya ampun...lo kok jadi kere begini sih?'. Mwahahaaa =)). It's not about kere or not, Panda. It was raining heavily during that time and i didn't have a chance to go downtown to buy something. I ran out food stock too. That's why. Xixixi...
Back to the topic. Actually, this is the first time i put sweet potatoes on my sahur menu. Guess what...two steamed medium-sized sweet potatoes plus one boiled egg***** are matchless combi to give a hearthy endurance for a whole day fasting period. Have you ever heard that sweet potatoes are rich in fiber, beta-carotene, vit. C and antioxidants? It's starchy as well. Hence, it can be a perfect substitute for rice. Check out this article to find out the wholesomeness of this tuberous roots.

P.S : Prepare yourself well for extra gaseous substance coming out from you-know-where after you ate this root vegetable. Xixixi. Ipomoea batatas For The Win!!!
