Idealistic Manic Supersonic Bionic

Bunga Nekat Primasari. My father should have named me that, instead. "Nekat" can be translated in two different ways, good or not-so-good. Good if it's related to risk taking practice and not-so-good if it leads to foolish or reckless acts. At least that's what I thought. Risk taking practice here is positive if it's estimated ahead. I would say that most of the decisions i've made were more likely linked to the first one.

Earlier this week, I took another "nekat" action. Just like a hockey player aiming the goal, slapshot and scoring, I mailed RCBio to ask whether I could reserve my "spot" as a researcher there. Ha-ha-ha [*insecure laughter]. I didn't expect my e-mail to be replied shortly. Errrr, to be exact, I never expected any reply, at all. Yet, I received the reply yesterday. This is what the e-mail enclosed : "Bunga kamu sudah mempertimbangkan masalah pendapatan peneliti di research institute milik pemerintah atau belum ? Kalau sudah, saya akan meneruskan lamaran ini ke Prof. Sony Suhartono." It was Dr. Imam Soeseno, RCBio's Head of Industrial Relations who sent me the reply. EeeEeehhH??? His slapshot style is apparently similar to mine :)). I replied his e-mail just 30 minutes later. Fast, isn't it?

Today, after discussed this thing with my father [*it's so me, doing something first and asking my parents' opinion afterwards :)). I always know that they will whole-heartedly support me, though :D], I realized something. I am very idealistic. My father clearly said "Ya sebenarnya ga pa pa, Nak kalau kamu tanya dulu berapa kira-kira gaji peneliti di RCBio". After googling, I found this***. The document didn't include the salary for government researcher, but at least I got the "bitter" description Dr. Imam Soeseno tried to pass me. For now, although I still don't understand his or my father's feelings, I will try to hold my head high.

Suddenly I remember one of my best friends' decision to serve the country merely using her bachelor certificate. She's a Dublin Institute of Technology's master degree alumni, btw. In my opinion, her decision to work as a civil servant was part of her idealism [*Errr, was it, Sun :))? I will ask her later. Or let's wait until she pops up here :))]. Another example is the other best friend of mine, Ririt Aprilin, who has currently made up her mind to serve the country, as well. The difference is, Panda -that's how i call her-, used her master degree certificate to submit her applications =p. All in all, being idealistic is a good thing to be able to start the long-rocky-sweaty journey as an employee, or so :p. But, btw, Bunga, you MUST wrap up your thesis first before stepping further, でしょ?

the money won't be enough for girls-who-like-to-buy-what-they-don't-need-at-the-moment-but-think-they-will-need-them-later like us. :D

but, i think, to reach my final destination, this is one of the best way. i asked His opinion and i think He showed me this. all the paths were clear. :)

don't worry about the money, you won't live until forever. do what you love and when other people get the benefit, that's your bonus.

it will be frustrated sometimes.
but don't worry, you've got friends. you'll meet new friends. they who will accompany you throughout your journey.

pray hard and make up your mind. and walla.. what you need is what you'll get..

good luck on the journey... and stop slacking.. finish your things!! :D
