Hmmm...honestly, i'm not interested joining any eating out or farewell party with the situation i'm facing right now. How can i possibly mingle with others while i have no "good thing" to share with? Should i laugh off myself there? I...can't do that.

Speaking about Edo's SMS, i realized one thing. I'm so grateful to Allah that i met him. He's just like my sibling. A brother. The funny one =)). Well, i don't hella care if people think we have "thing" which is more than that [*Oh..please, Edo is engaged :))]. At the time i read his text, i was whimpering. Random images of things we've done in FORMMIT Selatan were blasting on my mind. How wonderful the brother-/sisterhood is. Alhamdulillah, Ya Allah...

OK, i definitely wasn't in Jakarta during my school days, but these trends were apparently hit my hometown as well. Let me "check" things i've followed either done =p :

Hmmm...i remember i owned that shoes in my elementary school-almost-JHS-days, with ruler-shaped calculator as a free gift :))], 13 [*huahhahhahh...*stomach cramps*], 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24 [**huahuahuahhh....after like almost a decade, i can finally get the "N" (*spent my pocket money crazily just to  get rid off my "curiosity" whether that "N" really did exist or not :))]. But instead of sending it and got my "awards", i just put it on my diary =))], 25, 27, 28, 31, 32 [*ahhhhh...Kotaroooo..:)). At that time, he's the most HANDSOME boy on the planet =))], 33, 34, 40, 42, 46, 47, 48, 52, 55, 56, 59, 60, 62, 63, 64, 66, 67, 68, 70, 71, 74, 75, 77, 78, 79, 80, 82, 83, 84, 85, 87, 89, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95 [*Eitss..Kung Fu Boy and Dragon Ball were my fave as well :))], 96, 97, 98, 99, 100.

All in all, i wasn't that "trendy" back on the 90's, to be exact on the fashion thingy. Until now, i admit that i'm not a fashionista. I have my own statement in wearing my outfit, the syar'i one, for sure. Xixixi...

Video News Podcasts

I've been relying on podcasts to get updated with news from all over the world for almost two years. I prefer video over audio; visual description can draw my attention better than merely an audio.
 

I found this non-streamed webcast to be the easiest way to catch up the news. But because it is non-streamed, i need to be patient in order to wait for the newest podcast to be uploaded by the distributors.

My ever-subscribed video news podcasts are :

1. ABC World News with Diane Sawyer

This one is the most updated podcast along with CBS Evening News With Katie Couric. For the HighDef video lover, this podcast is a great deal. But for me, its HighDef becomes its weakness because it's quite time consuming when it comes to the downloading time. Besides, i don't really need the HighDef video considering i only watch it on my iPOD.

2. CNN Video Podcasts (CNN Daily, CNN In Case You Missed It and CNN Anderson Cooper 360 Daily Podcast)

These three video podcasts from CNN are less updated than others. CNN Daily is 9-10 minutes in duration and has the same concept as the regular news. CNN In Case You Missed It is a 2-3-minute-news highlighting the round-up news. Whereas CNN Anderson Cooper 360 Daily Podcast is a 30-minute-news report with one or two most emerging news that dissected by Mr. Cooper. I'm still subscribing to CNN Daily and CNN In Case You Missed it.

3. Al-Jazeera Listening Post 
I don't have much to say when it comes to Al-Jazeera. This Qatar-based television network has been my favorite ever since its first broadcast i've watched. Not only because its contextual objectivity, but also because its "quality" as in the trustworthy information broadcasted. When the US, UK or European media are trying to play twisty  games in the news they're broadcasting, Al-Jazeera always stands up tall even with the most controversial issues. In the Listening Post, there is "Global Village Voices", a special session showed in this podcast to give a chance to the audience to speak out their mind over the emerging issues. Moreover, Richard Gizbert is such an eye-candy. Hahhahh...*becanda =p*

4. NBC Nightly News

Another regular content yet long duration news. I'd stopped my subscription to this podcast after only a few round :D.

5. CBS Evening News With Katie Couric

As i mentioned earlier, this podcast is very updated. As for image quality, it's not as HighDef as no.1 podcast, but the duration is longer (with just about the same contents), thus the downloading time of these two podcasts are about the same. But, hey, i love Diane Sawyer than Katie Couric [*sorry, Katie =p]. That's why i stopped subscribing to this podcast since a long time ago.

"Picked up" Wahid at Guest House [*she was sleeping when i arrived there. Poor her. She was also typing her thesis the whole night].

June 5, 2010; 7.05 a.m

Arrived at the College of Life Science commencement's spot in front of library.

I couldn't believe this. ONLY College of Life Science [*Food Science Dept. is one of the departments in this college] conducted the early commencement and paraded the graduates with the NCYU's drumband team. Besides that, i just knew that another colleges [College of Agriculture, Teachers College, College of Management and College of Science and Engineering] weren't bothered to conduct the early commencements, after the College of Life Science parade was passing the way from the library to the auditorium. Other graduates from another colleges were watching and waving at us along the way [*berasa seleb :))].

June 5, 2010; 9.15 a.m

Arrived at the auditorium, the commencement ceremony's place. 

Me and Wahid were "shocked" seeing our friends were running away from the parade and pretended to come back to their own labs. For Dept. of Food Science, we were started with 20-something graduates and only...5 graduates left when we entered the auditorium. Oh..my GOD :))! Actually, Wahid was already winked at me to give a sign to leave the parade and follow the "runaways" a couple minutes before we entered the auditorium. But Prof. Huang, Head of Dept. of Food Science, was already seeing us and then escorted us behind. Hence, the runaway project was a total failure :)) :)).

June 5, 2010; 9.50 a.m

The commencement ceremony has begun. Dept. of Food Science's row was definitely looked spacey with only 5 graduates there [*and later, only 3 left [including me and Wahid] because the other two were running away].  

June 5, 2010; 10.55 a.m

Wahid has fell asleep silently form the start. I was unable to do that with Dean of Life Science's eyes watching our rows from the stage. But i was very sleepy and hungry to death. I couldn't stand any longer. There were 6 more guest speakers to give the speech, not to mention that after that there will be awards giving ceremony and such. Then, i woke Wahid up and whispered to my other friend to runaway together. Finally...WE WERE SNEAKING OUT! Left the Dept. of Food Science's row...EMPTY. Hahhhahhaaaaa...eduuun pisan =)).

June 5, 2010; 11.10 a.m

We went to 7-11 with Nidya and Ajeng along with us.Then, we went to the canteen at the second floor to have our brunch and...people there were staring at us. We were just realized that there were a giant screen connected to the commencement ceremony at the auditorium. Both of me and Wahid were still wearing our graduation cloak, hence we weren't staying inside the auditorium :)) :)). Pretending nothing has happened, we took off our cloaks and ate our brunch quietly. Xixixi...

Pseudomonas cocovenenans

I feel that my fermentation technologyish is getting fade away. How on earth that i can forget tempe bongkrek's death causing bacteria %$@# !?

PSEUDOMONAS COCOVENENANS which on 1960's was transferred into genus Burkholderia due to the similarity in genetic characteristics and now it's [supposed to be] known as Burkholderia cocovenenans is the bacteria that appear over the failed fermentation of tempe bongkrek. Hence, instead of producing the "healthy" food, tempe bongkrek which is made from coconut pulp [= ampas kelapa], is contaminated with that bacteria which later forms bongkrek acid and toxoflavin, ingested by the consumer and eventually causes intoxication or death. 

Ooh...how i miss my fermentation technology class T-T ~~~~

 

Kurang Kerjaan

I remember around a year ago after being chosen as part of Media Bureau, i felt uneasy, to be exact in what so-called website maintaining stuff. I knew nothing about web hosting! How in the world that i can maintain a website %$#@!? After being introduced to another friend who was "assigned" to be my team mate and got an impression that he's very capable in web maintaining stuff [*he's a computer science student], i felt less weary. But, well, things ain't as beautiful as my imaginations. It's not like he's incapable to do the aforementioned things, but his willingness in sparing some of his time to maintain the web was apparently rather low. Simply saying, i felt even stressful knowing the fact that i've faced those boundaries, my incapability and my comrade's halfheartedness. 

OK, enough for the long-winding so-yesterday-curcol. One thing for sure, it takes time to be able to master the whole "media" thingy, such as web maintaining/hosting. Now, although i still feel really "stupid" in that thing, i know that my skill is slightly improving. Looked very revengeful to the things i couldn't do before, yesterday i tried to do things i've been wanting to do...transforming FORMMIT website.
