Is The Tassel Really Worth The Hassle?

It has been nine months since I sent my son away to Jogja. I never felt that time really flies, since sending him away is such an endless second-to-second torture to me. Not even once...until yesterday, after finally!!! presenting my research results in so-called seminar hasil penelitian, I couldn't help but thinking how time has gone so fast. I also couldn't believe that I've been doing this whole master's degree for almost NINE YEARS. N.I.N.E CONSECUTIVE YEARS, well…with around 9 month-leave-of-absent due to pregnancy and child-rearing period. Gosh…that is such a lengthy time for pursuing master's degree, isn't it? Even my dad was once teasing me, "If I were you, I would have received THREE PhDs" #ROFL. He said so because he obtained his PhD after only 2.5 years. His tenacity for pursuing PhD degree was pretty awesome though, considering he was not young anymore.

First mission: Colloquium

My colloquium ppt
(designed by my dearest hubby :))
"Alhamdulillah…all praises to Allah", it's all I can say. Another chapter has been through. Even though colloquium* doesn't sound like a deadly word, but having it experienced is surely awesome. A killer moderator lecturer, gives it a nerve-wrecking twist #grin.

Honestly, I typed and presented my research proposal in English not to impress the colloquium attendees, as almost all of them (particularly my classmates) have noticed my superb English ability #tongue. Moreover, nobody obliges the graduate students in BAU to type or present their proposals in English. The thing is, I'm pretty confident with my English ability, thus I'm almost always did my assignments or presentations (or even exams) in English. That's why making and presenting my research proposal in English is just an ordinary thing. Ergo, "excellent English and this is the best research proposal I've ever seen so far" praises by the killer moderator lecturer doesn't really surprise me; I considered the praises as a bonus for my hard work in preparing it.

I would actually thank my saddening Taiwan study experience as a series of events that moulded that very confidence of mine. I would never become like this without that experience. I would not step into so many challenging doors without that confidence. So, thank you…again :). First mission, accomplished.

*Colloquium is a presentation of one's research proposal before conducting a research. It is attended by an appointed moderator lecturer, academic/research advisors and fellow colloquium participants.

Two-semester Contemplation

Source : http://tinyurl.com/mdwykmu
This semester has finally ended. To be exact, it was dramatically ended just today with an online statistical analysis remedial exam #sweats. Frankly saying, I don't feel satisfied with my academic performance. This semester is basically quite similar with last semester. I remember that I was only performed as a typical student who topsy-turvied to survive from a red elimination zone***.
-----
For your information, when you're enrolling to BAU graduate school, you'll be addressed as a "regular" or "trial" student. A "regular student" is a student who has previously graduated from the same major/department as the major/department being enrolled at BAU. This "regular student" will have two semesters to prove his/her academic performance at the enrolled department with achieving a minimum GPA of 3.00 at the end of his/her second semester. Whereas a "trial student" is the one who has graduated from the different major/department as the major/department being enrolled at BAU or a student who has graduated from the same major/department but lower standard university compared to BAU. A "trial student" only has one semester chance to prove his/her academic performance; it means that a trial student must achieve a GPA of more or equal to 3.00 in order to proceed his/her study in BAU graduate school, at the end of his/her first semester. I was being addressed as a "regular student" because I was graduated from GMU's Food and Agricultural Product Technology department which of course similar with BAU's Food Science department. Hence, this second semester is quite an emotionally stirring period for me. If my GPA (from this past two semesters) is lower than 3.00, I'll be forcibly kicked out from BAU.

Greetings from Dramaga!

Dramaga's district sign
Oh yeah...this post is typed by a full-time student who is enjoying her first week of campus routines :D! So, after battling with the whole entrance procedures, I have finally started again my academic life as a master's degree student. Alhamdulillah :). やっぱり, studying is SUPER FUN!
-----
However, since Bogor is not Yogyakarta nor Jakarta (nor Chiayi :D), I have to adapt to this city. Well, Dramaga is not a hectic area, though. It's a little bit hectic ONLY because two ANGKOT terminals (= Laladon and Bubulak) are located side by side, hence the vehicles that going around Dramaga are jam-packed on its narrow-and-badly-perforated road #grin. Nevertheless, because I had proved to survive well in Taiwan, I think I'm going to be just fine staying in Bogor.

Chop-Chop Celebrity

Huh? Who the heck is that on the screen? Eeeehhh...is that M.E? Kekeke...that was my reaction when I saw my-very-self on everywhere's screens in my three separated campuses. Dayuummm...I never knew that my junky survival guide video would be campus-widely played like that =)).

Speaking about being celebrity in this country, I always feel uneasy when it comes to walking-around-in-a-suppressible-manner. Ever since my arrival in Taiwan, I never once feel at ease. Hello, do you guys mind leaving me alone? I just want to be INVISIBLE! Aughhh...the wishes that simply couldn't be actualized in this place where EVERYONE seems insanely curious about a girl in a veil.
It's my nature to be very-autistic when I'm walking; bending my head (while "ghodul bashor"-ing =p), walking very fast and listening to my music with nearly maximum volume =p. These are obviously describing my personality as errr...a nerd who hates being the center of attention. So, studying and living in this country sure is a torture to me because everywhere seems like an open catwalk Y-Y. *Sigh
Back to the video which successfully rises me to the top, -as a top-notch campus's celebrity =p. I like the quality of the video. The problem lies in it's dreadful audio, -my voice. Kekeke, the person who usually speaks in a flat inflections like me is not suitable to be an anchor, a host, an MC, whatever it is that needs a golden seiyuu-like voice.

Jelly Belly's Every Flavor Jelly Beans

My adviser just came back from The States (the place where he brought my publication to be presented without the original author *smirk) and bought jelly beans back not for me. He just left that edible souvenir in the fridge and told everyone to serve ourselves whenever we want to have it. Oh...jelly beans, it's been ages since I meet you again. Xixixi.

Whenever I saw the packaging and the whole jelly beans thingy, I always think about Bertie Botts's Every Flavor Beans. It couldn't be helped since jelly beans has a plentiful flavors just like the aforementioned imaginary product. But no worries, the real jelly beans being sold at today's store doesn't have liver, tripe, earwax, toe nails or vomit flavors as in Bertie Botts's =p. Things I want to highlight here is I am still very amazed with the evolution of flavor chemistry technology. How could the flavor chemists invented hundreds or even thousands of different flavors? It's just feel too awesome to me, the food science student herself^^.

Stupidly Stupid

The midterm exam has begun. Today, it's time to do the invigilation* for the English Class I've been assisting. "Oh, it's such a piece of cake stuff", I said to myself carelessly. As a result, I did something beyond stupid Y-Y. Although I could pull it through, I still feel silly.

I remember Nisha only told me to take the exam sheets bundle in the office before the exam started. I thought she has prepared the sheets precisely to the number of the students.

After I passed out all the sheets to the students, a boy came. I frowned, peeped the envelope and found extra paper. "Wait a sec, we're running out of exam sheet. I'll copy some additional sheets. Just in case another students will come", I told him. After a while, I came back and handed him a copied sheet. Somehow, I felt uneasy. I guess something must have happened. Then, I rechecked the sheet I've copied and found this :

WHATTTT??? I gave him a KEY? All answer of the exam? Oh my...I'M SO DEAD %$#@! "Calm down, Bunga...ochitsuite. There must be a way out", I tried to cool myself off. Luckily, among three parts of questions, only part one that has been answered (on the key sheet). The second and third parts should be personally answered and written. Hence, I just need to make a different passage for that boy to be answered.

I managed to stop him from leaving the class. "Errr, you must answer this sheet"

No wonder jawaban dia benar semua. Hahaha...dapat kunci jawaban gitu :))

Whew, alhamdulillah...I could handle the mess, or-I-thought-so-until-I-found-this :

Heck, there are two students who answered their questions in CHINESE

What class they think it is? It's an ENGLISH CLASS ^%$$#@! Before they "escaped", I managed to "force" them to rewrite their answers in English. Aigooo.....

finally...

Whew, what a day !

Fun Filming

First Scene
Restaurant. Pork dumplings. Refuse to eat.
Second Scene
NCYU's bus stop nearby. Walking. Missed the bus. Chase the bus.
Third scene
NCYU's parking lot nearby. Cycling. Look around the campus.
Fourth scene
   NCYU's book store. Walking through.
Fifth scene
NCYU's SAC (Student Activity Center). Climbing stairs.
Sixth Scene
NCYU's canteen. Walking in and out the spot.
*sweating*

Now I know how does it feel to be an actress/actor. Today, after only 4-hour-run filming, I was FRAZZLED. My exhaustion was paid after I watched the raw videos Albert showed, though. We couldn't stop laughing when the second scene was replayed. "It's cool, huh? You are a good actress, Bunga. I like your natural acting", he said. NYAHAHAAAA...you've gotta be kidding me ! *masih terasa betapa lelahnya adegan kejar-kejaran dengan bus saat itu =))* Nonetheless, can't wait for next week's filming =p.

Si Albert bela-belain menggotong Bugi dari dorm ke area kampus :))

Rule The Roost : ME

Wooohooo! Finally, I got my golden chance to show my supremacy to "the innocent party"  :)). Yesterday was my first time to undertake my job as a TA. I was being warned by the English teacher who "hired" me that the class I'm going to handle is a freshmen class. Means, I must be very patient and never forget to speak s.l.o.w.l.y. "Piece of cake", my mind whispered. Yet, it happened that teaching English for Taiwanese is CHALLENGING :D.

What's the obstacle? Them. I never imagined they could be "that" silence. "Is there anyone who wants to ask me a question?", asked me after I introduced myself at that time. *crickets and cicadases' sounds* They were all close-mouthed. "Well, OK then. Now I'll let you to introduce yourself. Is there anyone who wants to start?", I continued. *dead air* "No one?", I kept going. *quietude* "Errr, 我有禮物送給你們*** if you are willing to introduce yourself. A special gift from my country", I was trying to win their hearts. Still soundless and motionless. *Gaaahhh!* "None of anybody here wants a gift, eh?", I started to feel desperate and annoyed. "OK, don't blame me for pointing anyone I want, then", I began to be a little bit wicked. "You, come to the stage and introduce yourself to the class", I was pointing one of the boy who sat on the last row. Hahahaaaaa...I RULED! But wait, It hasn't over yet. A boy that I pointed when he was playing around with his stuff, disobeyed my "order" and quibbled "Don't push me. Don't ask me to do things I don't like". NYAHAHAHAAAA =))! Watch me to kick your a** on the next meeting, anak-ingusan :))! In the long run, the first meeting was over. I had fun, really :)). Let's wait and see whether I could "conquer" them later =p.

P.S : I felt like an obaasan after listened to their introduction. "I'm 18 years old". "I'm 19 years old". Hahaha =)).."I'm 26, y'all".

***我有禮物送給你們 (wǒ yǒu lǐwù sòng gěi nǐmen) : I have a gift for you.

[Coming Up Soon] Payback Time

Mrs. Russel Brand, please allow me to quote one tiny part of your song lyrics here.
"You change your mind, Like a girl changes clothes...." "...You're yes then you're no, You're in and you're out, You're up and you're down, You're wrong when it's right, It's black and it's white" [let's forget "we fight, we break up..." for the inappropriateness reasons]

Who the heck that I was referring to ? None other than my frigging advisor. He is playing a game with me. For the second times in two semesters, he hit me hard with his "your draft is not good enough to be presented in a final defense".

I guess I assisted 50% of his hatred over me. I started everything, after all. I recalled it was more than a year ago when I took his Technical English Writing class. In the first meeting, he handed over the handouts and gave some introductions about the class. I read the handout and frowned. "Bleeding heck, what kind of class is this?", my mind opposed. I couldn't stand and rose my hand. "Pardon me for interrupting, Sir. What is exactly you're trying to teach in this class? I found it unnecessary", I bashed him right into his face. As if a devil possessed me, I kept confronting him and smacked his pride in front of twenty-something students in his very first master's degree student class. The day after, I dropped that class from my list. Darn. Thinking it over, that was hella idiotic action of mine. A blast of victory that costs me an arm and a leg.

Lesson learnt. Don't confront others right into their faces, openly. Especially when that typical person has the privilege to "decide your future, academically". Another thing is I guess I was only using my silver bullet to shoot my goal. No wonder it was a total failure. I've set another strategy, this time with my signature engraved golden bullet. I'll finish what I've started. You want to play a game, eh? Bring it on ! Giving up is not exist in my dictionary. Bismillah....

Dropping Random Notes

Family news update
Bunga : Mama di mana sekarang?
Mama : Di Bandung, di acara lamarannya Wilman. Sekalian tasyakuran kelulusan Icha.
Bunga : Ohhh....
Mama : Setelah Wilman, giliranmu ya, Nak?
Bunga : *^%%#@!

Ha--ha--ha *bitter laughter. I always call her in such an erroneous occasion. So, despite the fact that my family were flee to Jakarta because of the volcano eruption, they were still happy go luckily traveling here and there. And by the way, i just received a text message from my father that they are coming back to Jogja by today. He told me that the situation is a lot better. Alright then.

'Ammah (عمه) vs Amah (أماه)
OK, i must join the tatsqif class diligently. I mixed it up. 'Ammah defines as Tante in Bahasa Indonesia, whereas Amah means pembokat or bedinde. Speaking about 'ammah, suddenly i remember my cute niece, Atqiya. She spent her childhood in Tokyo and has been keenly learning English from her favorite show on TV cable aside from the school. I never realized she's very good at speaking English until i accidentally spoke to her in English as well. "See, Q-chan...look at her. She's 8 years old but has a slim body. Unlike you. You're only four but you're way bigger", i was trying to tease her while pointing at my sister-in-law's niece at the wedding hall. "Who said that i'm four? I'm five, Tante. Remember that, OK?", she replied, sounded very offensive. Ooops, sorry, Q-chan. Tante is surely getting old ^^". Oh yeah...i never forgot that she's aiming for the bride's tiara at that moment since she loves princessy thingy. "Mama, I WANT THAT TIARA, RIGHT NOW!!", she ran to her mother once she took a glance at my sister-in-law's tiara. Mwahahhaaa...Kikot was completely at loss because of her kid. "Haihai, Q-chan. Matte ne. Tiara-nya sedang dipakai Tante Ivo. Antri ya". Haghaghag...

I can hardly wait vs i can't hardly wait
Uh-oh. I've been mistakenly using the wrong expression this whole time. Thanks to this video (min 2:20) thus i can learn the correct one. Hmmm...thinking it over and over again, if we use the second expression, it means we are doubling the negative, can not and hardly, which is wrong. Tee-hee-hee. That's why we must use the first one. Nice.

Lab accident
My noisy advisor suddenly called me over to his office. "Just so you know, accident has happened today. A graduate student was unintentionally got her hands ran through the noodle maker machine, the one that you used to flatten your bread dough", he said. "The situation is a lot worse than we expected. The safety auditor has been checking up the whole food factory and it can be partially closed down by any moment", he added. Wow, sounds great to me. I don't have to go to the lab if the plant really is closed down. Xixixi...you wish, Bung!

Saman Dance

It's over, at last. Glad and relieved, that's what i feel. Two weeks practicing for the sake of performing in the International Festival at campus, has paid. Despite the mess on one of the Saman dancer's costume and the mistakes we've made during the performance, i can proudly say that we've SUCCEEDED. Alhamdulillah...alhamdulillah :).

Recalling
last year's International Festival which also presented this what so-called dance of a thousand hands, i can crystal clearly compare the differences; extra dancers, extra energy, more tricky moves, more complicated to set the practice time and extra bruises caused by fatal mistakes of dancers' moves. Xixixi. But all in all, this year's Saman was AWESOME \m/!!! This is from us to you, Indonesia....

Check out this video to see our performance and sing along with us ;)) :

P.S : Thank you very much to Laskar Tainan for lending us the Saman costumes^^.

Laugh it off

Wow, it's been a while since my last post. Xixixi...*sok sibuk amat saya*

Honestly, these past few weeks has been quite something. Slaving myself at lab 'til the last breath of mine...upside downing my world to get my research submitted to the SCI journal ["You can choose any SCI journal, but choose the free one" ----> dasar advisor kere =p]...struggling to death to get my canceled final defense on schedule ["Your data is not good enough" ----> hahaha...pahit...pahit....pahit! He left for Africa on my hanging by thread period. I hope he didn't watch World Cup. If he really did, i will definitely kill him!] . Life is Good, huh?! But you know, I'm glad that after this continuous bitter pills i must swallowed i still be able to laugh those things off. Mourning is so not me, though. OK OK....i admit that after that cold-blooded guy did the cancelation, i was crying [Xixixi...gembeng sekali [*ah gpp...once in a while boleh lah ya =p]. While crying, i called my father. He encouraged me and said "fa idza 'azzamta fatawakkal 'alallah".
I won't give up, Father...i promise.

Btw, i have a hunch that i will prolong my stay here after i lost my Student ID card. It  was lost exactly at the same day when i have to submit all documents for final defense. At the same time, my fully-tanned advisor was just came back from his Africa trip and told me to cancel my final defense due to the unsatisfactory reason. Hahaha...he's awesome, isn't he?

Speaking about my Student ID Card, today i got the new one. And because this one is the new one, i need to register it [again] in order to get access to enter the lab. When i reported to the Food Processing Plant officer that i lost my Student ID Card and asked him to open the access for me, he said "你是誰阿? 我沒有看到你阿. [Hahhahhh...ya jelas lah Anda tak pernah melihat saya, Pak. Saya "hantu" gitu lho di lab]. I always come to the lab at around 10 pm and back to the dorm around 7.30 am. It's very convenient this way because i don't have to see my advisor all the time.

P.S : I love being invisible. I've deactivated my FB account, definitely appear as invisible on Gtalk and YM, and get rid of my Twitter account. I even think about having this blog of mine erased. Hahahhh...

Commencement Icak-Icak***

Warning!
Don't come to the commencement ceremony with this following conds :
1. Wakeful a.k.a not sleeping at the earlier night [*even with the reason "i must do my experiments, otherwise my bacteria will be passed away"]
2. Starving [*even with the reason "i'm bored of eating instant noodles"]
3. "Gondog berat" with something to be happened at the commencement [*even with the reason "i'm sick of being "the victim of injustice""].

The chronology of the D-day
June 5, 2010; 1 a.m
At lab, nurturing my B. longum and L. acidophilus.

June 5, 2010; 3 a.m
Typed down the 1st chapter.

June 5, 2010; 6.25 a.m
"Picked up" Wahid at Guest House [*she was sleeping when i arrived there. Poor her. She was also typing her thesis the whole night].

June 5, 2010; 7.05 a.m
Arrived at the College of Life Science commencement's spot in front of library.

I couldn't believe this. ONLY College of Life Science [*Food Science Dept. is one of the departments in this college] conducted the early commencement and paraded the graduates with the NCYU's drumband team. Besides that, i just knew that another colleges [College of Agriculture, Teachers College, College of Management and College of Science and Engineering] weren't bothered to conduct the early commencements, after the College of Life Science parade was passing the way from the library to the auditorium. Other graduates from another colleges were watching and waving at us along the way [*berasa seleb :))].

June 5, 2010; 9.15 a.m
Arrived at the auditorium, the commencement ceremony's place.

Me and Wahid were "shocked" seeing our friends were running away from the parade and pretended to come back to their own labs. For Dept. of Food Science, we were started with 20-something graduates and only...5 graduates left when we entered the auditorium. Oh..my GOD :))! Actually, Wahid was already winked at me to give a sign to leave the parade and follow the "runaways" a couple minutes before we entered the auditorium. But Prof. Huang, Head of Dept. of Food Science, was already seeing us and then escorted us behind. Hence, the runaway project was a total failure :)) :)).

June 5, 2010; 9.50 a.m
The commencement ceremony has begun. Dept. of Food Science's row was definitely looked spacey with only 5 graduates there [*and later, only 3 left [including me and Wahid] because the other two were running away].

June 5, 2010; 10.55 a.m
Wahid has fell asleep silently form the start. I was unable to do that with Dean of Life Science's eyes watching our rows from the stage. But i was very sleepy and hungry to death. I couldn't stand any longer. There were 6 more guest speakers to give the speech, not to mention that after that there will be awards giving ceremony and such. Then, i woke Wahid up and whispered to my other friend to runaway together. Finally...WE WERE SNEAKING OUT! Left the Dept. of Food Science's row...EMPTY. Hahhhahhaaaaa...eduuun pisan =)).

June 5, 2010; 11.10 a.m
We went to 7-11 with Nidya and Ajeng along with us.Then, we went to the canteen at the second floor to have our brunch and...people there were staring at us. We were just realized that there were a giant screen connected to the commencement ceremony at the auditorium. Both of me and Wahid were still wearing our graduation cloak, hence we weren't staying inside the auditorium :)) :)). Pretending nothing has happened, we took off our cloaks and ate our brunch quietly. Xixixi...

June 5, 2010; 12.30 p.m
The commencement ceremony has ended. Our runaway-friends were already gathered near the auditorium to take our department pictures for the last time.

June 5, 2010; 1.30 pm
Headed back to the dorm and sleep. Zzzzz..zzz...

***Icak-icak is West Borneo-Malay language means ""pretend to be" or "pura-pura".

A Bitter Pill to Swallow

Last Friday was the most awaited moment of my campus life. It was ISA-NCYU's new President election. After slaving/serving myself as the president of ISA-NCYU for this whole year, time to leave the "hot seat" has finally come. I couldn't get happier than ever.

The meeting was apparently rather long than usual. Robin has listed 14 agendas to be discussed together. No.1 agenda was happened to be the most contentious among all.

Robin : Ok, let's start the meeting...bla..bla..bla. This year, our university has chosen 4 students to receive the Service Award. They will come to the stage at the graduation ceremony to receive the award from the President of the university. They are Kwanchai, Kwanruan, Li Hue and Winitra.
---buzz...buzz...buzz---
Quan : Robin, why Bunga's name is not on the list? [*he didn't bother to use "can i ask you a question" and just straightforwardly asking =p].
Agatha - Atchara - Amongtap : Yes, why is that?
---buzz..buzz...buzz---
Robin : Well, of course as a President of ISA, Bunga has a huge chance to win the award, but i've told her the reason about why she doesn't get listed [while stole a glance at me].
---buzz..buzz..buzz---
Bunga : *smirking bitterly*

Want to know why i didn't get into the list?

---Two weeks earlier's flashbacks at Robin's office---
Robin : Bunga, can i talk to you for a minute?
Bunga : *something's fishy here* Yes, Robin, what's up?
Robin : Did you know about the Service Award that annually given to the students here?
Bunga : Yes, what about that?
Robin : I've chosen the awardees. But, i need to tell you something.
Bunga : Errr, what's that, Robin?
Robin : I'm so sorry that you are not listed as the awardee.
Bunga : Oooh...i...see. *frowning*
Robin : I know that you've done a lot for the association. I really appreciate that. I really do. But, to get the name of the awardees, there are two methods used. First, the voting from all ISA members. And the second one is my records. The second one is the new method i've been trying to use. Every involvements of ISA-NCYU member in ISA's activities was counted and apparently you weren't as active as the four awardees in the activities we've held.

Hahahhaaaaa...i couldn't believe that! She's counting all members' attendance on every activities/trips held by the association! *flabbergasted*

---Back to the meeting---
Robin : Bunga will be given the priority to deliver a speech at the graduates' farewell party. OK, Bunga? You can do that, right?
Bunga : Ha..ha..ha..i'm not that important [*still feeling two weeks ago's bitterness].

Anyhow, congratulations to Quan, my successor [*you'll know the bitterness of being the President of ISA-NCYU, in such a short period of time] !

Chinese Calligraphy Class at NCYU

Wow...look at Laoshi's "drawing" style. Xixixi...serius abis^^

Sudahlah..ga usah coba2 Chinese calligraphy segala, Bunga. Nulis Chinese character biasa aja jelek kok :))

Apalagi ini...jangan coba2 membandingkan hasil kaligrafi novice dengan master =p

After missed last year's similar class, finally last night i managed to join this what so-called Chinese Calligraphy [Class] in my campus. Whewww...i gave up. No more Chinese Calligraphy...i'll just stick to the Chinese regular character. That's more than enough.

新年快樂 !

It's too early to say "Happy Chinese New Year" though^^. But because the end of the semester has come and some of the int'l students are planning to come back to their country, Chinese New Year Party in my university has been scheduled earlier.

I remember last year when i missed the bus, thus making me failed to join Chinese New Year Party, meant i couldn't get 紅包 (hóngbāo; red envelope). Hehehe *kumat dah mata duitannya*.

Since i didn't join last year's party, i have nothing to compare to. Hmmm...all in all, it was just like the regular celebration, except for the "bowing and burning incense (香火; xiānɡhuǒ) to pay respects to the ancestors" session.

Well, being a president of ISA-NCYU means i have to get ready to be a celebrity ..anytime..anywhere *puke*. It just happened that I have to represent my friends to accept the red envelope from the rector. Oh oh...btw, after the red envelope-receiving ceremonial, i heard an unpleasant truth. The HUGE red envelope i received before, used to be filled with extra cash. "Last year, Mas Away got NT$1000, Mbak", said Eti. *TINGS* without hesitation, i peeped the red envelope. It was...EMPTY. *ROFL...sucks*

Besides that unpleasant truth, everything was just great. Picture tells a thousand words ;p. Check them out:
Oooh...empty 紅包...*sigh*

OK, line up, foods...we'll burst our stomachs if you're rushing *lol* :

In the end, unavoidable narcissism attacks occurred, as can be (clearly) seen below :

新年快樂 (xīn nián kuài lè; happy new year) ^o^!!!

Chinese Class Performance (3rd Sem)

Whew...finally...i've through this semester's Chinese class perfomance. Btw, it was the SHORTEST performance EVER =)) (*i was more than GLAD because i didn't have to be on the stage for quite long time *grin*). This time, i got a role as mother (*the fierce one ;p). Well, you'll be very fierce too if you had a son who's as mischievous as "my son".

Check out my performance here. For others' performance, check out my channel at Youtube here.

The Hilarious ISA-NCYU Meeting + "Fire in The Husk"

Last night was ISA-NCYU last meeting for this semester. Actually, everything was just great. I mean, knowing the fact that "fire in the husk" is flaming inside almost every-ISA-NCYU-member*, I was quite amazed that everyone can keep the "flame" buried.

Well, last night's meeting was quite special because someone came up and explain about the whole youth-travel-in-Taiwan things. The episode of youth-traveling-guide will be posted later :D. I'll reveal merely the meeting content here.

First, we talked about int'l students' shopping schedule. I was like "huh...is it necessary to do the shopping thingy all together???". But Robin said this is very important, thus our campus will provide a bus to help the students to load their stuff easily. When i heard from Ella about the reason why Robin insisted to put this monthly-activity in ISA-NCYU schedule, i was cracked up. "Once, Robin caught red-handed Ajeng brought all of her shopping stuff in her bicycle, Mbak", Ella said. Hahahaaaa...Robin thought that we have a hard time doing that. Actually for us (*incl. Ajeng), that kinda thing is nothing. It's usual to load your stuff in your bicycle basket, right? (*i even successfully load my stuff in my no-basket-bike ^^V). *ROFL*

Second, we discussed about next semester's trip. Hahahaaa...after "influencing" (*threatening? ;p) almost everyone, my dream place gets voted (*presiden yg licik =))). If everything goes well, we will go to Kinmen Island. When i asked "Robin, do we need to pay the whole trip fee by our self? (*stupid-trying-to-be-diplomatic question ;p)....she fastly replied "Of course". *lol*. "But our campus will give us subvention, right?", i was trying to confront her. "Yes, but you still have to pay, that's why i always remind you to save money", she answered. *iye2*. "Well, it's gonna be expensive, then", i said. "Sure. Because we need to get on the plane to reach Kinmen Island", she answered again. Then, somebody was raised hand and said "Maybe we should make our plan B, just in case". Then i blurted "OK then, the plan B is going to Chiayi Park and cycling together. No need money to do that. Such a perfect plan B, right ?". Then everyone was just laughing hard. Robin even said "I'm glad that we have such a smart president as Bunga". *LMAO*
Off-the-record : two of Vietnamese students are both car sick people. When they heard that we will go to Kinmen Island, one of them said "We're gonna die, for sure". *ROFL*

Smile happily, although flammable "fire in the husk" was all around ;p

*"fire in the husk" story
Seems like, day by day, Office of Int'l Affairs working performance is getting worse. The uncertain-time of scholarship is actually become the main topic. But the story behind the late-scholarship is definitely getting on everyone's nerves. In order to get the scholarship in NCYU, every students have to hand in their working-hours-sheet (WHS) to the officer. But can you imagine if the officer is careless; forgot where to put your precious WHS ??? Moreover, it happened repetitiously. Or, what if the officer forgot to transfer your scholarship money whereas the money is already on her hand ??? And shockingly, this ridiculous things she's done is always catch red-handed by us. *bloody angry*

This issue has already spread as fast as typhoon attack to every int'l students here. Some Thai students once told me about this. As much as Indonesian students who are my friends. I didn't hear any complaints from Vietnamese or other countries students. *they must be bloody rich, hence they don't really give a hell care to the scholarship money ;p*
Then, my things-to-do would be : "Discuss this problem with the officer and Robin". \m/
