For Better Or Worse (part 2)

It's been a long time since my last post (*let's consider 6-month blogging absence as an awfully long time for a reason so-called "gosh-i-don't-even-have-time-to-keep-up-with-an-appropriate-social-life-due-to-this-academic frenzy"). Yeah, that's a mere start.
-----
As for this second part of "for better or worse" post, I would actually "share" a tiny part of my marriage life. Share also means documenting this past almost-7-month marriage journey in this blog. I believe that record and documentation are part of a good traceability system (*sok gaye yang mentang2 baru belajar food traceability XD)
-----
Source : http://steadyflowblog.com/on-marriage/
So..yeah..after almost 7 months marrying this man, I would say that I still need some adjustments. Marrying Mr. Right who shares more than 80% similar interests with you, doesn't mean everything will work just perfect. Remember there is around 20% gap to be filled and adjusted (*percentage varies between couples :)). That's just normal when a husband wants his wife to meet his perfect standard, vice versa. For example, my husband is dying to make me ride my motorcycle slower-and-safely and talk/act less bitchy (judes in Bahasa Indonesia) to others when I'm in a bad mood***. The problem is, both are things that have been marked as "so me" and definitely hard to be reversed. But you know what, we call these hard to be reversed matters as "the art of marriage". In art making, difficulty and time never counted. An artist will devote his/her life to obtain his/her art-related dreams, as in a sculptor who can spend years only to make a piece of statue. So does marriage.

For Better Or Worse (part 1)

Source : http://tinyurl.com/m7gwo7s
From the very beginning, I knew that marriage life is not only going to be filled with joy and happiness. When someone agrees to marry his/her precious one, there's a sacred vow behind that agreement to bear everything together. E.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g.
-----
Allah will test every human being HE created with HIS own way. Human never knows when, where or what kind of test HE will give. The only thing that human can do is preparing him/herself for any kind of test. The better he/she prepares himself/herself, the easier he/she can accept the fact that he/she is now being tested, then move on and figure things out.

April 21 ~ Makhtubah

Source : http://tinyurl.com/azhqdtu
April 21 is R.A. Kartini's birth date. And according to some references, it is also Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) date of birth. As for me, April 21 is the day when my journey to the marriage is started. April 21, 2013. Now, I'm a "makhtubah"*.
-----
I can say that my khitbah** story is rather unique. Why is that? Well, because it wasn't really planned. I mean, my fuhus*** didn't really plan to khitbah-ing me on April 21, 2013. Today, he and his family was only intended to meet my parents, strengthened silaturrahim, and chose the marriage date (for us). But then, a night before that date (read : yesterday), my genius father offered a change of plan. My father told me to tell my fuhus to sort of modify the visit into khitbah mode. This is what he said:

"Sekalian aja deh bilang ke Mas-mu untuk melamarmu besok, Nak. Walaupun tidak lengkap, keluarga kita banyak yang bisa hadir dan mengingat mengumpulkan mereka itu tidak mudah, ya jadi sekalian saja. Lagipula kan sudah jelas arahan kalian menuju ke pernikahan. Buat apa lagi "basa-basi" silaturrahim?!".

Tenanting

My boarding house in Balio
Three weeks have gone by and I almost couldn't believe  to see how fast I'm adapting myself to Bogor and IPB. I guess I have to give thanks to my "dramatic" and "agonizing" experiences in Taiwan for that #tongue! Seriously, Bogor is nothing to be compared to Chiayi. I would like to say, "If you have exposed yourself to the worst situation unimaginable, other situations will be sensed just alright". Yeah, kinda like that :).
-----
During my 3.5-year stay in Taiwan, I lived in a four-people shared room. I couldn't help it because my campus only provided that kind of facility on its dormitory. Well, actually,  NCYU also provided two-people shared room. But the problem is, it's in a boys-girls dormitory. HELL NO...I'd rather die than have to share the same living space with boys #seriusan! As for now, I'm living in a 11-room boarding house with other woman tenants. Eight of them are students at IPB, while two of them are high school's graduates. Of course living in your own room (or I would rather call it "cubicle" for its small size :D) is way more delighted than in the four-shared dormitory's room. Alhamdulillah...everyone here is very nice. I can easily make friends with all of them.

Motivation Matters

Source: http://tinyurl.com/a8qgkoj
A few days ago, I have a LINE chat with my old friend who is still struggling in Taiwan to pursue her degree. She told me that she is currently feel bored with her routines as a PhD student. Futur riset. Oh well, I couldn't blame her for that. Imagine you're keep on studying from your compulsory education (elementary school until junior high school; 9-year compulsory education is being implemented in Indonesia), to senior high school, university, and directly proceed to Master's degree then PhD degree. Without any break. You just keep climbing the stairs of educational degree until the "dead end", -PhD. Bummer.
-----
As for my friend's case, she was being honest about lacking of motivation in completing her last stage of academic degree. She doesn't know yet where should she heads to or what kind of job that she's actually want to do in the future. Moreover, she's currently not engaged with any institution/university, as in being a lecturer, an employee, a researcher or such. Hence, things are quite blurry in her eyes.

Greetings from Dramaga!

Dramaga's district sign
Oh yeah...this post is typed by a full-time student who is enjoying her first week of campus routines :D! So, after battling with the whole entrance procedures, I have finally started again my academic life as a master's degree student. Alhamdulillah :). やっぱり, studying is SUPER FUN!
-----
However, since Bogor is not Yogyakarta nor Jakarta (nor Chiayi :D), I have to adapt to this city. Well, Dramaga is not a hectic area, though. It's a little bit hectic ONLY because two ANGKOT terminals (= Laladon and Bubulak) are located side by side, hence the vehicles that going around Dramaga are jam-packed on its narrow-and-badly-perforated road #grin. Nevertheless, because I had proved to survive well in Taiwan, I think I'm going to be just fine staying in Bogor.

Handling Elderly Parents

Have you ever heard that once you've turned old you're actually starting over your life phase, again as a kid?

My aunt (66), her husband (66),
and her mother-in-law (95)
Since I'm currently living at my aunt's home, I've started to experience things her family is facing. That's the reality I can't resist; I have to involve myself. And honestly, even though sometimes I feel like "he*k, this family is a complete opposite to mine!", I do learn a lot of things  here, including about "parenthood".
So, my aunt and her husband are currently taking over the biggest responsibility in their own nuclear families. Means, both of them are kindheartedly taking care of their remaining parents at home; their mothers (~thus one of them is my grandmother from my father's side). "Huh, what is so special about son/daughter taking care of their own parents ?", probably you would ask that. My answer would be, "Very special".

The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree

A humble campus
Started from last week I'm officially a...lecturer :). A temporary lecturer, to be exact. This is the place where I'm doing my job. Honestly, I've never even once thought that I'm going to do a similar job like my father. Yeah, I always consider myself as a shy woman who hates being the center of attention, allergic to stand in front of so many people who keep staring at me, listening to what I'm saying, demanding more explanations and such. But well, I guess now I know what my father meant as "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree". I can't refuse the fact that I inherited my father's knacks. My father even told me that I'm 100% his characters' copy/duplicate. Too bad he passed down his look only to my dear brother #tongue. If he passed down his look to me too, I think we would very much like twins who have 30 years age gap. #grin

Abi, Miku, Shokhi

After arrived back to Indonesia on August 17 and been staying in Jakarta for more than a month, I finally came back home to Yogyakarta. Safe and sound. Alhamdulillah :).
"Shokhi" in her new kaftan

Home is...my everything. And, the most 'attractive object' that simply lured me to come back home is this little girl, my niece. She is ADORABLE! I guarantee, you'll falling in love with her at the first sight and you'll fall for her head over heels after you see her 'entertaining skills'. She's now into learning new words and can directly parroting your sayings. Well, not enunciating your words clearly, but she'll pronounce them in her cute-enchanting way. Ha...lovely XD! Better be careful to say any word in front of her. As for now, she still couldn't pronounce her name well. Instead of saying 'Shofi", she always says 'Shokhi'. #ROFL
-----
I can always see a glitter of happiness in my brother and sis in-law's eyes whenever they hear their daughter says 'Abiku' or 'Ummiku' (abbr. 'Abi' and 'Miku' #ROFL). That's what I understand as a bless of having a child. Even the aunt's feeling can be this AMAZING, thus I  couldn't imagine a word beyond it that can describe parents' feelings. Subhanallah. I'm the luckies aunt on planet earth :)!

Life Couldn't Be Better Than This

Source : http://tinyurl.com/7cuyr8p
Oh yeah...it's been nearly three weeks (*two weeks if I excluded my "jet lag" phase =p) since my homecoming. So, how's life? The answer is none other than L.G! Life's G.O.O.D~ :D! Alhamdulillah~

Today, -just like the other days-, I came to Islamic lecture in Masjid Kampus UGM. The sadly rather short discussion session with Ust. Syatori came to a sort of philosophical conclusion, -which was a nice one :). Here it is, ""GRACE" or "FAVORS" in something are the real treasures for someone who missed or couldn't get that particular thing". "Nikmat (terhadap sesuatu) akan terasa ketika (sesuatu itu) TIDAK ADA". Okay, let me give a ridiculously simple example. MASJEED. In Taiwan, there are only six masjeeds which are obviously located in some major cities. And guess what, there's no masjeed in Chiayi, -the sort-of-rural place I'm staying. Hence, I couldn't help but missed masjeed's atmosphere (*and things going on inside the masjeed, for sure) so much. This is what Ust. Syatori called "NIKMAT". So, once you get the real masjeed's atmosphere (*in my case is during my homecoming), it feels awesomely priceless! To be concluded, the inexistence of something for someone caused a particular longing feeling for it. If then later in the future we can manage to get it and feel grateful for that, we'll realize that it's A PRIMO. VALUABLE.

My Greatest Enemy Is Myself

Source : http://tinyurl.com/7aqejjb
Wow, it's been ages since I'm blogging XD. Where I've been? (*it sounds extremely WEIRD to ask that sort of question to your-very-self, trust me :p).

Let's light up this long gone blogging spirit with something as serious as this post title. Recently, I'm kind of realized that "I'm A SCARY girl", literally. "Scary" here doesn't have to do with personality, though. I found myself "scary" because I just realized that I have a humongous hidden weakness that I always boasted to others as my strong point. Confused? Same here XD. Well, "that" thing is no other than my inability to motivate myself. True. How come I lived with that false feelings this whole 27 years? I think the answer is because I NEVER really faced an entangled problem just like NOW.

Before I headed to Taiwan for my study, I always lived with my family. It was kind of usual for me to go in between cities or islands by myself to visit some relatives, but still...home and the people inside it were always become my "sanctuary". I'm especially have a very good relationship with my father. Hence, no matter how hard things or problems slammed me, I could rely on him every time. I always counted on him to cheer, motivate, and boost the-collapsed-me. In the end, I never really tried to do a so-called "self-motivating".

So, here I am. Still testing and struggling how to successfully motivate myself while encountering a crisis, -in wrapping up my study to be exact. Will I succeed? Let's wait and see.

The Quirky Musician

Last week was Dewi's birthday. It's kind of hard to understand why bizzare (*bizzare in my point of view has nothing to do with the unpleasant things) things keep happening during this annual "celebration" of hers. Well, I guess that's her luck =p.

After wrapped up our part-time job, Dewi, Wahid and me were agreed to celebrate Dewi's birthday with...eating 臭豆腐. Such a "modest" way to celebrate someone's birthday, wasn't it =p? We went to our favorite vendor and met this ojiichan named Mr. Yang. Ha! Our first impression of him was precisely right. He's a musician, - a violist, to be exact. During our conversation, I realized that my Chinese sucks, to be compared to Dewi's and Wahid's =)). I should be grateful that I can understand Yang Ojiichan's sayings because he could speak Japanese. Hahaha...thank God my Japanese hasn't completely vanished =p. In the end of the encounter, three of us were kind of contemplating Yang Ojiichan's advice. Hmmm...there's nothing to regret, either for extending study, bearing tons of amanah, missing a bunch of family events, or else. 對不對? #self-reflection#

 Dew, jangan mepet2 ya =))

Black Magic (-scratched) Sesame

To be honest, I didn't get along with this seeds quite often back in Indonesia. Why is that? Because it's hard to be found =p. Here? Sesame and its derivatives are everywhere. Inside of a bun, on the top of a bread, on the top of the noodles, mixed with matcha (and being sold at local St*rb*cks), mixed with oats (to drink as an instant cereals), in a form of an oil, in a form of a powder, in a form of a candy (*my favorite =p), etc. Among all forms of it, I'm really curious with the fourth one *drooling*. When will I get 買一送一 (mǎiyīsòngyī; buy one get one for free) St*rb*cks's coupon from 7-11 again? Just like the "old" times when me and Ella collected it. I still remember that time when we were sneaking out the campus and headed downtown just to get a sip of coffee from the biggest coffee chain, of course using that 7-11 coupon. Xixixi.

Hmmm....along with "Lady Tomato", I guess I'll also miss sesame after I come back. *munching black sesame-filled buns at the dawn*

Knitting Craze

Ha! I still couldn't believe with this brand new hobby of mine, k.n.i.t.t.i.n.g. Oh yeah...you heard me right =p. My mother will (definitely) be so proud of me. I imagine she'll say "Finally you're interested in something other than martial arts and sports, Nak". Xixixi. Well, Mom...time has come for me to be a real woman ;)).

So, when did my knitting craze start? Just yesterday, when I saw Astri's knits, I murmured "Hmmm...kapan ya aku bisa bikin yang beginian ?". Without even realizing it, a while later, I bought a knitting kit and sat at Musholla Al-Iman to learn the basic of knitting with Wahid (*thanks for your patience, Ni' ^^). As if "a devil" possessed me, I kept doing it here and there with my pathetic-amateur way of knitting. Even today, when Laskar Chiayi went to Puzih for computer training, I kept working on my soon-to-be-a-cellphone-case knit. Hahaha! Hmmm...now I understand why Wahid said "Hati2, Nge', merajut bisa bikin ketagihan".

brand new companions

anytime...anywhere =p (I guess I'll send this picture to my mother :)))

Hi-level Rambling

Prologue
A : Taiwan has three nuclear power plants and now building the fourth. Three of them are located in Taipei and one is located in Kenting.
B : Hmmm...I see.
A : Nuclear power plants supported only 5 % of Taiwan's energy supply. Mainly, Taiwan relies on water power plants to produce the energy to run the country. I'd say that Taiwan must build more the gas-fired power plant to increase the energy supply.
B : Why is that?
-and the discussion continues to Kuomintang, PRC-Chinese Taipei relations, Hongkong-UK-PRC alliances, until illegal logging, fasting, praying, directing and filming- (*such a random things to talk about =p)

Started from filming the dunno-which-part-of-footage for our project, me and my new acquaintance, Albert, ended up talking about fluky topics. The filming was only an hour and the conversation was two hours-or so, btw :)). I don't remember how long I've been missing those kind of "serious" subjects to be discussed with local people (read : Taiwanese), but I'm beyond-happy having Albert as a knowledgeable acquaintance. Simply speaking, I can see clearly that this 23-year-old boy loves to read :D. Let's just forget that his English sucks and he makes me frowning deeper to get his point of talking.

Honestly, aside from Albert, I barely met an au fait Taiwanese. Most of them are "boring" =p. "Boring" here means they don't really care about things happened outside, hence they  are unaware about the world's recent issues. That's why every time I talk about the happening things, most of them will answer "ohh..." or "how did you know that?" or "hmm...I don't really watch TV". Gaahhh %$#@! OK, basically, they are just ignorant. For Albert, he admitted that the youngsters are now more likely attracted to pop culture than the global issues. Forgive me if my conclusion is wrong. Probably, I befriended with the wrong people :)). But well, yeah...that's what I experienced.

OK, let's get back to the track. Even Albert, the one who said "I love how your God has "arranged" everything", is still Albert. A Taiwanese who doesn't own a religion. He, - like most of people here-, simply thinks life circles in four things : studying, working, earning money and having a vacation abroad. Sad. Thinking deeply about it, I believe that Allah sent me here for a bunch of reasons. One of them is to open this Albert-like people's eyes regarding to the metaphysics matters, things couldn't be reached by merely a human logic.

My father used to say "Well, Nak, there are times you can't use Qur'an's verses to explain the beauty of Islam to the commoners. It won't get to them". Yes, Dad...I understand. I will also add my father's basic advice : "action speaks louder than word". As for my story, Mr. Lee, Laskar Chiayi's acquaintance, used to say, "I'm very touched seeing all of you doing this kind of activity (*in Musholla Al-Iman)". "Your religion is beautiful", he added. *let's hope Allah will open this kind of people's heart and give him His hidayah :)*.

Epilogue
It takes more than a creativity to wrap the information so that it can get directly to the person we're aiming for. It takes more than a willingness to explain the beauty of Islam to the commoners. It takes more than a kindness to do things for others, unconditionally.

How To Brush Your Teeth Correctly

This two weeks, I've been in and out the dentist to get my teeth "restored". "Your teeth are in a severe condition. You have too many cavities", the dentist said. Gahhhh %$#%@ !

Well, it's not a brand new story for me, though. Ever since I was a kid, I've always been a "passionate" sweets eater. Chocolate bars and candies are always stacking on my shelves :D. When I went home a few months ago, my father already reminded me to go to my-soon-to-be-father-in-law-who-happens-to-be-a-dentist to get my teeth fixed. But of course, I was quibbling this and that, thus I didn't have to go there. But now, I started to regret it. I begin to feel a pain sensation whenever I brush my teeth. *triple sighing

After seeing the downtown's dentist for the fourth time, my wisdom tooth could finally be restored. But the other one needs to be pulled off. Huhuhu Y-Y. Anyhow, I got the never-knew-before tooth brushing technique from the dentist. Here's the video :

What's New?

Came back home safely after two years living abroad and then headed back again to wrap up everything. I've done that. But there must be some or even bunch of things that i've encountered before as well as after the homecoming. Yes, indeed.  Like for example :

1. My brother never called me "Bunge'" again, he called me "Mbak Bunga" instead. Xixixi. It sounds weird at first, but now i get used to it. I guess he's trying to appear as a decent husband to his wife. Good boy^^.

2. I'm completely amazed seeing my brother already sit back at home before 6pm. Before got married, although he usually done his work by 4pm or so, he always goes somewhere else, whether it's to "Kandang Kelompok", where he puts his cattle on, or hang out with his friends. But now, he's like everywhere at home. Hahahaaa...can't hardly wait to see his wife, i supposed. Accchooo..!!! Typical newly weds...=p [*mencoba utk tdk sirik =))]

3. After subuh prayer, we usually recite Qur'an, doing homework, reading newspaper, watching TV or cooking. But now, it's very awkward seeing my brother have a morning walk with his wife. He even said "Nanti kalau sepedamu sudah dibawa pulang, kami ga jalan2 lagi, tp sepedaan. Ya Mbak ya ?"; considering we only have one bicycle at home. Mwahahahaaa...enak aje ! Mo pinjam Bugi, eh? Bayar dong :))

4. When we have our family talk at night, my brother never join us anymore. Of course he's with his wife. Once i asked "Gema kemana, Pa ?". "Sama Ivo di kamar", answered my father. Stole a glance at my "unsatisfied" face, my father said "Ya mo gmn lagi, Nak...dia sudah bukan milik kita lagi". Mwahahhhaaaa...we were cracked up together after heard him saying something like that. Hmmm...i guess my father is right :).

5. Pay an extra attention to everything related to UK [the real United Kingdom, not United Kantongan =p]. Set Taipei, Taiwan and London, UK, together on my cellphone's interface. It's not because my sister asked me to go to London with her this winter to visit her husband, but...hahaha...only Panda knows why i do this :)). Maybe i should ask my father what *ehmm*'s major to satisfy my curiosity. Haghaghag...*blushing

6. "Congratulations on your wedding and welcome back!!", texted my labmate. Huh? Siape yg nikah, coy? Then, i remembered that it's the impact of my joke to my advisor about mentioning "i will go home for the wedding". Aigoooo...*kena batunye

7. Diligently slaving myself at lab during daytime instead of nighttime. So far everything is good. Back to the diurnal cycle and never sneaking around at night sounds more natural. I love this new life rhythm. Befriended to nature with doing things like normal people does fun. ASSAAA...!!!

8. Officially resigned from the organizational activities i've been drowning into for this past two years. One thing that's left is conducting likok pulo and angklung performances for this Saturday's International Festival at campus. After it's over, i'll devote myself to my research. Bismillah. Ya, Allah....permudahlah urusan hamba....

LATAH

Taiwan’s “bad” habits-routines I brought along home are listed as follows :

1. Walking/Riding on the right side
During my first week in Jakarta, I was just traveled around by car, hitchhiking here and there either with my cousins, Oom, Tante or my father. Simply speaking, I was on my safe zone. Then, when I planned to see Panda, I finally met my challenge. BUS. Xixixi. I kept walking on the right side at transjakarta’s hub bridge. Still, I kept staring at people I’ve bumped as if that was their mistakes, -I am the right one and you are breaking the law!. Hahahaaaa…rusuh pangkat sembilan =)).
When I arrived at home and riding my motorcycle, I kept taking the right side as well. My sister never stopped hitting my back and shouted freakily [“Ya Allah, Mbak….ambil kiri!!! Sini aku aja yang di depan. Nanti kita kecelakaan lg. Gawat ini kalau Mbak Bunga bawa motor sendiri. Ck ck ck…”]. Mwahahaaaa…kacauuuu….

2. Passing the curfew without feeling guilty
Nak, dimana sekarang? Pulang lah…ini sudah malam”, texted my father. It was 7pm. Having lived freely without curfew for two years, I forgot the curfew my father had set. My brother used to accompany me if I wanted to go somewhere at night. I never wandering around alone after the sun have set. In Taiwan? I always go to the lab at 10 p.m or so, come back from my in-between-cities-activities very late and such. If my father only knew about those things...xixixi.

3. Ironing? What is that?
"Bung, kok kamu jadi zuhud [read : gembel] gini sih sekarang?", teased my friend in one session of our reunion. Feels quite convenient with no-ironed-clothings and flip-flop to meet people, i am no longer the old me -crispy clothings-mary jane-or-sneakers-or-flat slingback mania. I've tried to keep up with the old me during my first year in Taiwan, ironing my clothes and wearing appropriate footwear, but after that...hahaha...well, it's just happen to be like that.

4. Fixed price? No way!
"Ga ada diskon untuk mahasiswa, Mbak?...Harganya ga bisa kurang?", asked me while holding a backpack at one of the sport outlet in one of the biggest malls in Jakarta. Hahaha...udah berasa di Beringharjo atau Malioboro aja pake nawar2 segala :)). Well, in Taiwan, we can bargain and get a discount even at Shinkong Mitsukoshi, the most prestigious shopping mall. The price can be reduced max. 10 % of its price tag. We just have to be "muka tembok" and set the most innocent face =p. Give it a try :D....

Ipomoea batatas FTW!

Mama : Hari ini sahur apa, Nak?
Papa : Anakku, jangan lupa sahur yang bergizi ya...

Awww....if only my parents knew what kind of sahur menu their daughter had...they will definitely summon me to go home, pronto :)). ***Canned sardines, canned tuna, ramyun/noodles, eggs and sweet potatoes are my repetitive menu. 100 % unhealthy! I've completely betrayed my food scientist background....

Moreover, one day i had rice+pepper+salt [RPS] as my sahur menu. Mwahahahhaaa...super pathetic! At that time, Panda was checking up on me and asked the same question as my mother. When i told her that i ate RPS on my sahur time, she replied shockingly "Ya ampun...lo kok jadi kere begini sih?'. Mwahahaaa =)). It's not about kere or not, Panda. It was raining heavily during that time and i didn't have a chance to go downtown to buy something. I ran out food stock too. That's why. Xixixi...

Back to the topic. Actually, this is the first time i put sweet potatoes on my sahur menu. Guess what...two steamed medium-sized sweet potatoes plus one boiled egg***** are matchless combi to give a hearthy endurance for a whole day fasting period. Have you ever heard that sweet potatoes are rich in fiber, beta-carotene, vit. C and antioxidants? It's starchy as well. Hence, it can be a perfect substitute for rice. Check out this article to find out the wholesomeness of this tuberous roots.
[Source : http://www.babyfood101.com/m/i/sweet_potato.jpg]

P.S : Prepare yourself well for extra gaseous substance coming out from you-know-where after you ate this root vegetable. Xixixi. Ipomoea batatas For The Win!!!

***Ayu : "Tante Bunga makan apa tadi?"
Tante Bunga : Sarden
Ayu : Ih...Tante Bunga kaya kucing...
Tante Bunga : =)) *terguling2 sekaligus meringis menahan peri :))
*****I hope eggs laid here is safe...unlike current Salmonella sp. outbreaks which is very happening in the States.

[Totally] Random Things to Write in 15 Minutes [or so]

Tormented
Oh my....why Rina never told me that H. Aslam is a Pakistani version of Schumi ??? He is no doubt a regenmeister, as well. Until today, i still nauseatic whenever i remember my "excursion" to DC. How on earth Nantou to Chungli can be knocked around solely in 2 HOURS!!! Even Tzu Chiang train will never make it @_@~~~....

Taiwan Rail Pass [TRP]
This week, i managed to buy TRP for my "swing" to some cities. I'm s.a.t.i.s.f.i.e.d. Why didn't i use my Youth Travel Card a bit previous ???

Heroic
Papa : Kapan mau pulang, Nak ?
Bunga : Hmmm...kayanya Bunga mo lebaran di Taiwan aja, Pa.
Papa : Lho...kenapa ?
Bunga : Itu, anak2 baru NCYU ga ada yang jagain kalau Bunga pulang sebelum lebaran. Kasihan mereka. Soalnya tmn2 yang lain mo lebaran di Indonesia.
Papa : Tidak usah terlalu heroic, Nak. Pulang lah. Mereka juga sudah dewasa...ga perlu kamu yang jagain.

My father, the one who knows me to the bones, understands me better than anyone else in this world, always says that i'm too heroic. Barely think about myself when it comes to the others. Some people might think it's good to be like that. But well, in my father's opinion, my heroism is way too much. I couldn't set my priority right, blinded by another things he always called as "less substantial matters".

Fooling around
After got an approval from my father to go home earlier, i sent an e-mail to my advisor : "The latest data was a mess [again]. I will take a break for a while and go home to my country for the wedding". Hahahaaa =)). He must be really shocked until couldn't reply my e-mail. FYI, my advisor is 40-something years old and...S.I.N.G.L.E. My wild imagination pictured he's completely offended because i will get married and he still rotting-single-and-searching :)). I wish he knew it's actually my brother's wedding =p. Hmm....maybe he's even more offended; considering my brother is only 23 and "sold-out" for instant =)).

1st comes 1st
Among Laskar Chiayi, me and DTT are the one who never go home in two years. This afternoon, we went to Immigration Office to have our ARC extended. While lining up, i asked her, "What is the first thing you want to do once you arrive in Indonesia ?". She answered, "Have a nice-clean hair cut in Salon Muslimah". Hahahahh. Well, for me, it's about the same. I'm longing for self-pampering thingy in Salon Muslimah; facial, creambath, etc [*daydreaming having those right now]. Xixixi...*benar2 tidak bermutu*
